This is the story of the flood in Springfield as seen by one actually on the spot. It lacks many of the embellishments that might have been added to create greater reading interest. Springfield Post of the American Legion hope that in presenting it they have performed a service which many will appreciate in being able to have the plain facts of the situation as it existed on those two long to be remembered November nights, facts to which nothing can be added by embellishment.
